Discover the Benefits of Oil Heat
There are many great benefits to being an oil heat customer. Here are just some of the reasons why oil heat is the fuel of choice for many homeowners:
Oil Heat Is Safe: Unlike gas, oil heat is a non-explosive fuel, so you don’t need to worry about the safety of your home or family. It will also produce a visible warning sign such as smoke or soot should your heating system malfunction.
Oil Heat Is Cost-Effective: Did you know oil is one of the least expensive ways to heat your home? Not only did oil heat consumers benefit from low prices these past heating seasons, but industry analysts predict that prices will continue to remain low in the near future.
Oil Heat Is Environmentally Friendly: Vigilant efforts to decrease our environmental impact have led to a 33% drop in gas emissions over the last four decades. And now with the introduction of Bioheat, oil heat is cleaner than ever—learn more below.
Oil Heat Is Efficient: Not only is oil heat the warmest fuel (with at least 40% more heat per unit than comparable fuels), but new oil heat technology continues to make leaps and bounds with increased efficiencies upwards of 95%. This translates to less consumption and more savings on your energy bills!
Oil Heat Is Dependable. There’s no question that home heating oil is here to stay. The introduction of Bioheat means more domestic production, making it a fuel source you can count on for years to come.
Bioheat: The Cleaner, Greener Home Heating Fuel
We are proud to supply all of our oil customers with Bioheat, the eco-friendly home heating fuel. But what exactly is Bioheat, and what are the benefits? We’ve answered the most common questions below.
What Is Bioheat?
Bioheat fuel is a blend of our ultra-low sulfur home heating oil and biodiesel*, which is a renewable resource made from natural sources such as soybean oil or recycled cooking oil.
How Do I Benefit from Bioheat?
Here are just a few of the many benefits to consumers:
- A cleaner burn means your heating system runs more efficiently, which lowers your fuel consumption, reduces the need for service calls, and extends the life of your equipment
- Requires no new equipment or modification to your existing system
- Made domestically, reducing dependency on foreign oil and helping local farms and businesses instead
*According to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), biodiesel blends up to 5% are considered to be the same fuel as traditional heating oil.
How Is Bioheat Beneficial for the Environment?
There are several environmental benefits:
- It burns cleaner, reducing toxic emissions and promoting better air quality
- It’s low in sulfur
- It biodegrades quickly
